James Lane, a graduate of King's College, University of London and a native of the UK, started working life as an engineer in the oil industry. After the sharp decline in oil prices in the mid 80s he moved into banking to learn 'financial' engineering. When banking again brought him to the US, after spending a number of years with Citibank on Wall Street, James decided to try his hand as an entrepreneur. He founded a joint venture with a Fortune 500 company in the U.S and successfully took them to the Internet. But with his fascination for numbers and finance not fulfilled, James started to work in the mortgage business at the same time.
After originating loans for a local mortgage broker, James decided it was time, once again, to return to independent business.
